Last year, around this time, we heard from our clients and partners who expressed concerns about potential price increases and limited availability resulting from tariffs. While tariffs have created some headwinds (and headaches), our planning has allowed us to keep most of our products in stock, and our prices have remained the same. As we look to 2026, we anticipate maintaining stable prices and ensuring the continued availability of our products, while introducing new and exciting offerings.

New in 2025

Last year, we improved several products and introduced a few new ones. Our Inline, open-frame touch displays underwent a revision. We improved the thermal qualities, both in materials and in active cooling, to enable it to perform well, even in integrated settings that may not be ideal. In addition, we added a few new touch screens to the Inline lineup, including a 28” Stacked/Square monitor, a 34” Ultrawide 5K, and a 75” 8K display. See our Inline product page for the complete list. Fabricators use the Inline touch display for custom tables, exhibits, and furniture. Our own fabrication group at Ideum develops custom installations using the Inline. It allows fabricators to create kiosks and touch tables with our large-format displays more easily.

We debuted the Tasting Table and Wine Experience at the Unified Wine and Grape Symposium in Sacramento, California, last year. The Tasting Table comes with software that supports wine, sparkling wine, and beer tasting. It is also a starting point for custom software development, exploring tastes and beverages. We are collaborating with partners, both new and old, to create innovative sensory dining experiences. We look forward to announcing new initiatives and projects in 2026.

Another popular offering in 2025 was the introduction of the 43” Portrait kiosk, marking the first new product in the Portrait series since the original 55” version was introduced 10 years ago. The Portrait is a versatile unit that allows for touch and can also support motion tracking using a Kinect Azure or other devices. We offer a variety of custom mounts for cameras and motion devices.

We developed a series of new accessories for our Drafting II touch table making it more useful for AEC (architecture engineering and construction) applications. A few years ago we introduced castes and a keyboard tray. This year we added a secondary monitor. In addition, we added a new ultimate computer upgrade and a optically bonded display option.

The most significant announcement in 2025 was the release of our +PLUS series displays. Our first optically bonded offerings. The +PLUS series sets a new standard for quality for large-format touch displays. This new, innovative display is available across our product line. Our 55” Pico coffee table, Platform II, and Drafting II touch tables, along with the new Tasting Table, all use this new, high-quality display.  Along with a brighter image and improved viewing angle, the +PLUS series, like its predecessor, also supports object recognition through our Tangible Engine SDK

Coming in 2026

The first order of business in the new year will be the release of a new version of the Ideum Pro touch table. The current look of the Pro’s base has remained unchanged for nearly 15 years. There have been several revisions to the door, the fan vents, the I/O box, and other features over the years, but we’ve decided to redesign the entire chassis. (If you are interested in the early days of touch table development, I put together a post several years ago on the tenth anniversary of our first touch table.)

We will continue to offer a variety of touch screen sizes and resolutions for the Pro. Historically, the Pro was both the first commercially available 4K and the first commercially available 8K touch table. The current Pro available with 49", 55", 65", 65" 8K, and 75" 8K touch display configurations.

Based on the success of our 34” Reader Rail kiosk, we are exploring new models based on this design. It is a unique model for Ideum, as we fabricate both the wood enclosure and the touch display. We are considering both 4K and potentially other 5K models, as well as ultra-wide models.

We are also developing an authoring software package that enables no-code authoring for the 5K Reader Rail. This internal project has been delayed, but we have already begun testing the alpha version of the software with a select group of clients.

The Pano touch table was introduced in 2013. We announced the current dual 49” Pano, which uses projected-capacitive touch (P-CAP) in 2019. We are exploring the development of a new dual 55” Pano later in 2025.

Finally, we hope to release a 65” version of our +PLUS series touch displays. Like the current +PLUS series 55” displays, these will be available across our product line and come in multiple form factors. We expect these new displays to be available by the end of 2026.

Conclusion

These are challenging times for small manufacturers with global supply chains. Our staff have worked very proactively to ensure that we have the components we need, when we need them. We’ve diversified our hardware offerings and components, allowing us more flexibility to meet the needs of our clients. We also continue to offer custom touch table and kiosk development through our fabrication group. If we don’t provide what you need as a product, we might be able to build it for you.

Finally, we were honored (and surprised!) to find ourselves listed as one of the top manufacturers in the state of New Mexico this past year. We are grateful to be here in the state, and we appreciate the recognition. We are also thankful to our partners and clients. This year marked our 25th anniversary. We wouldn't be here without you.
