Ideum digital Drafting tables have long been a staple of our multitouch table lineup, and can be found in a variety of institutions all around the world. Though initially created for museums, science centers, and other public venues, their application has expanded beyond these original intentions. The architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry has increasingly adopted digital solutions in recent years, reducing its reliance on paper blueprints. This shift has led to a growing demand for large-format, high-resolution digital drafting tables, and as such, the Ideum design team has been hard at work creating upgrades and add-ons for our Drafting II touch table that meet this demand and create an efficient and elegant workstation for our AEC clients.

Modular Upgrades Create the Ultimate Digital Drafting Table

Over the past three years, the Drafting II touch table has received significant upgrades, enhancing its mobility, ergonomics, and computational power. Amongst the upgrades already on offer are locking casters, first introduced in 2022, which add mobility to an otherwise stationary table. The casters are uniquely integrated into the Drafting II’s cast aluminum legs, and keep the table’s center of gravity low to ensure safety and stability for all users. Then, in 2023, we introduced our keyboard tray, which is made of the same powder-coated aluminum as our tables and is large enough to support a full-size keyboard and mouse. In 2024, we released the Drafting II Ultimate computer upgrade, which added an even more powerful processor and graphics card to accommodate more demanding design applications, and earlier this year, we added the all-new optically bonded touch display to the Drafting II lineup.

Secondary Monitor Coming Fall 2025

Expanding our commitment to innovation and user-centric design, we are thrilled to announce the latest add-on for all sizes of the Drafting II: a state-of-the-art secondary monitor. This new addition seamlessly integrates with our existing suite of AEC upgrades, further solidifying our position as a leader in ergonomic and efficient workspace solutions.

Just like the Drafting II itself, the secondary monitor is made for use in demanding environments. A 1080p Full HD 22” multitouch display attaches to the articulating arm, which has been meticulously engineered for optimal user experience. The arm securely attaches to the rear of the primary display, providing a stable and robust foundation. This allows for unparalleled flexibility, enabling users to make precise, fine-tuned adjustments to the monitor's position and orientation. Whether you require a horizontal extension for detailed side-by-side comparisons, a vertical stack for code or document review, or a custom angle to minimize glare and optimize viewing comfort, the secondary monitor adapts to any workflow.

The secondary monitor offers flexible acquisition options to cater to diverse needs and budgets. It will be available for purchase this fall as either a standalone upgrade or as an integral component of a new, comprehensive AEC bundle. The standalone option allows existing Drafting II table owners to enhance their current setup, while the bundle provides a complete solution for professionals seeking to equip their workspace with a brand new system. Preorders are open, and the first units will be shipping in September 2025. To reserve yours, reach out to our sales group today.
