The Drafting II multitouch table is one of our most versatile and popular models in our lineup. It is used as a kiosk in a variety of public and semi-public settings, and can also function as a digital drafting table for Architecture Engineering and Construction (AEC) applications. The table is available in a range of sizes, from 43” up to 65”, all of which are 4k UHD LG displays and multitouch projected capacitive touch sensors from TES (formerly 3M).
The angled touch table isn’t just about the screen though; the integrated Windows computer is equally important. The standard version comes equipped with an i5 Intel Core processor, an NVIDIA RTX A2000 graphics card, and 16GB of DDR5 RAM, all of which are built into an Ideum-designed slim computer case that fits snugly into the pedestal of the table. This base computer can be upgraded to our performance model, which bumps up the specs to an i7 Intel Core processor, an NVIDIA RTX 4000 Ada Generation graphics card, and 32GB of DDR5 RAM, all while still fitting comfortably inside the base.
As software becomes more demanding, many of our clients started requesting more powerful systems to stay ahead of the game. We began seeing our tables used with more graphically intensive applications, requiring real-time rendering, detailed textures, and complex lighting effects, and as such, a more powerful system was needed to ensure smooth operation and reduce the risk of crashes. And while upgraded processors and RAM were not an issue to add into the existing case design, being able to fit larger graphics cards into the slim Drafting II base posed a real challenge. But here at Ideum we love a good challenge, and set to work on designing a brand new case that could accommodate not only the size but the heat output of modern graphics cards. And thus, the new Ultimate upgrade was born.
The Drafting II’s Ultimate upgrade could be viewed as the younger sibling of our existing Ultimate computer, sharing similarities to both the full-size tower computers in our Colossus and Pro models as well as the slim computers in our Platform, Pico, and Drafting models, all while maintaining its own unique attributes. With a powerful i9 Intel Core processor, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card, and 64GB of DDR5 RAM, there is very little that the computer cannot do. These components are installed in a newly designed computer case that allows extra room for the larger components and extra ventilation space to ensure proper heat dissipation. The new ventilation features include a wire mesh screen over the GPU and vents on the locking rear door, pushing the extra heat out the back of the pedestal away from the user and keeping the inside at optimal operating temperatures.
While the Ultimate computer is the latest upgrade available for the Drafting II, our team has been hard at work this past year making new add-ons for the angled touch screen table. In October of 2023, we released our keyboard tray, which combined with locking casters make up our AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) bundle. The table can be customized with just about any color or finish you can imagine, allowing for branding and color coordination with any space.
With these latest upgrades, Ideum continues to push the boundaries of what’s possible with our multitouch tables. Whether you’re looking to enhance your current setup or invest in a new, cutting-edge solution, Ideum’s Ultimate Drafting II, with or without the AEC bundle, offers the performance, durability, and flexibility needed to stay ahead.
