The Pro Touch Table has been in our lineup for nearly 15 years. The first Pro was designed and developed with an IR (infrared) touch sensor and an HD-resolution LCD. At the time, we were moving away from our first projection-based table due to its limited resolution and the complications of setup and maintenance. The Pro form factor has been widely copied in the industry over the years, and its design has proven durable.

Since the launch of the first Pro, there have been many changes, mostly to the display that sits atop the Pro’s chassis. We integrated higher-resolution displays (4K and even 8K) in various sizes (49”, 55”, 65”, and 75”). In addition, touch technology evolved from IR to PCAP (projected capacitive), which all of our units now use. PCAP is the same touch technology that is found in popular smartphones and tablets. In addition, we were the first to develop object recognition for these types of displays and launched Tangible Engine, which continues to be used to create tangible interfaces.

The changes to the Pro's base/chassis have been less dramatic over the years, with adjustments to fan placement, speaker accommodation, an audio amp, a UPS backup, and other features and options. However, the new design is a significant change. It features more squared-off geometry, optimized cooling, a new I/O box, and other changes. We will provide a full list of new features once the Pro II is officially launched in a few weeks. In addition, we will announce finalized support for various screen sizes and resolutions, as well as support for the new +PLUS Series displays.

The Pro has an important role in our company’s history as it was our first “manufactured” product. It has since been followed by a half dozen other touch tables and a number of interactive displays. Last year, our company was named as one of the top ten manufacturers in the State of New Mexico. That wouldn’t have been possible with the Pro. Watch for the official launch in just a few weeks, and contact our sales team to be the first in line to get the latest iteration.
