We had an incredible time connecting with museum professionals, educators, and exhibit designers at the 2025 Association of Children's Museums conference in Albuquerque! As a New Mexico-based company, it was a special honor to showcase our latest interactive projects and products right here in our home state. The event - appropriately named “InterActivity” - is the largest gathering of children’s museum professionals in the country, and we were excited to be a part of it. During the event, we featured some of our favorite collaborations that blend interactive storytelling with innovative technology.

43” Portrait Touch and Motion Kiosk

Making its public debut at the conference was our 43” Portrait, running Postcards from the Paleozoic, an interactive that was created with the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science. Like its larger predecessor, the 43” kiosk combines touch and motion-sensing capabilities in a sleek, all-in-one aluminum frame. It’s designed for high-traffic public places, and its smaller size makes it more maneuverable for museums and more accessible for children.

Ultrawide Reader Rail Kiosk

Also on display at the Ideum booth was the 34” Ultrawide 5K Reader Rail. The unique touch kiosk is designed with museums in mind, featuring an elegant wood base and a powder-coated aluminum top and accents, making it both durable and aesthetic. Booth visitors interacting with the angled touch kiosk would see the NAI award-winning Dueling Dinosaurs Appearance Interactive, a dual-screen exhibit designed in collaboration with our clients at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences.

Optically Bonded Platform II Touch Table

The anchor piece of our booth was our Optically Bonded 55” Platform II touch table. The Platform II is our most popular model, and this still-unreleased version features our new Optically Bonded touch display. The prototype for this display was first shown in 2023, and in the years since, we have made a variety of design improvements, and the final product will be released this summer.

Featured on this table was the Ecosystem Health multi-user game, which is a permanent exhibit at the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Explorers Base Camp. The educational game has users controlling different kinds of bugs, and challenges them to work together to pollinate flowers, eat waste, and reproduce to create a healthy ecosystem.

Pico Touch Coffee Table

While the Pico has been in our product line for seven years, it is not a model we regularly bring to events. However, given the compact size and short stature (it stands at just 22” tall), it is a great fit for children's exhibits and educational spaces. With an integrated Windows 11 computer, or optional Chromebox, the Pico is just as powerful and capable as its larger counterparts. Its use is not limited to museums and children’s exhibits, and the touch screen coffee table can find a home in any space where users may be seated, such as libraries, classrooms, and even cafes.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by the booth and joined us in celebrating creativity, technology, and playful learning. Ideum is committed to supporting the mission of children’s museums: to spark curiosity, inspire hands-on discovery, and make learning an active, joyful experience. Whether through immersive exhibit environments, interactive and educational games, or accessible and imaginative tools, we love helping institutions create spaces where children can explore, experiment, and connect with the world around them. We’re excited to continue building experiences that inspire curiosity and exploration.
