Last year, we developed an exhibit on the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) for The National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. The exhibit allows visitors to select the top PBR riders and see video clips of their best rides from the prior year. This “video jukebox” presents PBR history and content for rodeo enthusiasts. The exhibit also features The Cowboy, encouraging PBR visitors to learn more.

After the opening of the full exhibit at The Cowboy, it has been such a hit with visitors that PBR asked us to create a travel-sized version to take on the road! We developed a new kiosk form-factor for this exhibit. The first article has begun to travel with the PBR.

The first stop was New York City's Madison Square Garden, where I had the pleasure of attending the rodeo this past weekend. Billed as the PBR Monster Energy Drink Buck Off at the Garden, the event matched up the league's top riders and bulls in an amazing setting. The custom kiosk debuted at a VIP event, where it was well received. In the future, the interactive kiosk will be available at various PBR events accessible to the general public.

The custom kiosk uses an Ideum 5K Reader Rail touch display and 49” 4K monitor to share video content. Designed with regular travel in mind, the kiosk is engineered to pack neatly into a hardened, custom ATA case, requiring less than 5 minutes to set up or pack away. It will travel in one of 15 semi-trucks that PBR uses to take their rodeo on the road. The next major stop will be Tulsa, Oklahoma later this month.

This shared project between The Cowboy and PBR has been great fun. We are looking forward to continuing our work with The Cowboy and helping reimagine their iconic Rodeo Gallery! We will post updates as the work develops.
