Ideum recently sponsored the Big Brothers / Big Sisters Discovery Festival in Albuquerque. The Discovery Festival is an event designed to inspire local youth by demonstrating real-world applications of STEM. Ideum was the “Curie Sponsor” of the event, and we also took several hardware and software demonstrations to the Festival to share with the participants. The Albuquerque Discovery Festival took place November 13-14, 2015 at the Albuquerque Convention Center.
Ideum is proud not only to have sponsored the event and shared our real-world experience in the STEM and STEAM fields with over a thousand local students, but we are also proud to say we won the award for best overall demonstration booth! We shared our Origami Apprentice and other applications Creative Services has developed for the Sprout by HP, along with the Be a Bug interactive we developed with the ABQ BioPark, a textile viewer and creator application we collaborated on with the Institute of American Indian Art, a Landscapes art activity we created with Crystal Bridges Museum, and our Electromagnetic Spectrum exhibit.
We also took several examples of our own hardware. Participants were able to try out our Presenter 42 and 75 touch walls, as well as a Pro 55 multitouch table. We also demonstrated our custom 38-inch “stretch” multitouch table.
