This past weekend, Ideum partnered with Game Gauntlet Jam, a competition organized by New Mexico game company Cosmic Forces! We attended the awards ceremony in Santa Fe, NM on June 20th, where the winners of the jam were announced. It was an inspiring evening celebrating creativity, technical skill, and the growing strength of New Mexico’s indie game development community.

Supporting Local Indie Developers

Although Ideum creates all kinds of software interactives, from touchscreen kiosks to fully immersive interactive exhibits, our development team has always loved making games. Partnering with Game Gauntlet gave us an exciting opportunity to help uplift indie developers across New Mexico. Many indie game creators face difficulties funding, promoting, and publishing their games. Game Gauntlet aims to change that by connecting creators with investors and industry experts, all the while building a thriving local community of developers, artists, voice actors, and more.

The jam reflects something we deeply believe in at Ideum: that great software development can come from anywhere, and that local talent deserves real opportunities to grow and be recognized. New Mexico has a passionate and fast-growing creative tech community, and events like Game Gauntlet are essential to keeping that momentum going. We are proud to support those in New Mexico who are creating amazing games!‍

Step Into the PBR Arena

At the awards ceremony on June 20th, Ideum presented a live demo of our software interactive Join the Team, developed for Professional Bull Riders (PBR). This augmented reality application offers PBR fans a unique and engaging way to connect with their favorite teams. The interactive software exhibit invites users to choose their PBR team, step in front of the camera, and watch as a custom augmented reality (AR) jersey and cowboy hat for their chosen team appears on them in real time. They were even able to snap a photo to download to a personal device, as a personalized keepsake.

The Join the Team experience is just one way that modern software development can transform fan engagement. By blending augmented reality with an intuitive design interface, Ideum creates interactive experiences that feel both magical and accessible. It was exciting to bring this kind of technology to a group full of creative minds, and showing participants and fans another way software developers and artists can use their skills beyond single-user experiences.
