As part of our ongoing Technology for Our Community Program, Ideum recently donated a 49” Drafting II multitouch table to the nonprofit Corrales Historical Society.

Our team installed the table at the historic Old San Ysidro Church (the home of the CHS), which was as simple as wheeling it in and connecting it to a power outlet. The screen runs a simple image viewer that shares a captioned visual history of Corrales, using CHS archive photos and additional materials submitted by the community.

The Ideum team worked closely with the CHS board to curate content and information for the debut of the interactive gallery, but the application will allow CHS to add to and edit the presentation as community members continue to come forward with new materials.

Ideum’s Drafting II Table is a ruggedized multitouch table available with a 43”, 49”, 55”, or 65” 4K Ultra HD display. This model is often used for locked-down kiosks at museums and experience centers, or it can be configured with a keyboard tray and casters for studio use with AEC software.

Built in 1868, the Historic Old San Ysidro Church is a landmark centerpiece of the village that Ideum calls home. Typical of its era, the building’s adobe construction features a ceiling of exposed vigas, corbels, and latillas (beams, ornamented supports, and laths) supported by thick clay walls that enclose a classic cruciform floorplan. Preserved by the Corrales Historical Society — formed in 1974 after the parish moved to a new building on the main road — the building plays host to a year-round slate of community events, and is open to the public for free docent-led tours on specific dates. See the CHS Old Church Tours page for more info.

Ideum's Technology for Our Community Program allows New Mexico nonprofit agencies and local government entities in need—such as schools, libraries, fire departments, and other municipal groups—to request the donation of an Ideum multitouch table or touch display.
