When STEM Santa Fe contacted us to inquire about a loaner for their summer programming, we instead connected them with Ideum's Technology for Our Community Program team, who identified a gently used unit that would meet their current needs and give them plenty of flexibility for future programming.

STEM Santa Fe's Summer STEM Circles are a series of weeklong hands-on programs for students rising into grades 7–12. Each week focuses on one theme—such as aviation, 3D design & printing, app development, and more—offering activities across multiple locations in northern New Mexico, in a variety of environments with different use needs.

The Ideum 49" Presenter multitouch display will allow guest presenters to connect their own computer to run demonstrations, slide shows, interactive programming, and other course content. Mounted on our SmartLift motorized stand[link], with the push of a button the screen can be raised or lowered, and/or oriented across 90 degrees from a vertical (TV-style) use to a flat surface. This range provides full accessibility while serving a wide range of presentation styles and interactivity needs.

We delivered the Presenter to a hangar at Jet Center Santa Fe, the location of STEM Santa Fe's first camp of the year, Sky is not the limit – Aviation and Aerospace. The girls-only program ran for one week, introducing campers to a wide range of aviation careers, featuring hands-on activities, demos, and presentations led by aviation professionals.

STEM Santa Fe's Founder and CEO, Lina Germann, tells us that they're planning to explore additional uses of the Presenter where camps are held in locations outside the traditional classroom. Excitingly, this may also include integration into the organization's maker space, which includes 3D printers and a laser cutter and where the development of innovative programming for youth takes place. Our touch displays are used widely in demanding industrial design settings, and a maker space is a perfect environment for adventurous minds to discover new uses for the tech.

We're grateful for this opportunity to help the youth of New Mexico discover and explore the wonders offered by emerging technology, and we look forward to seeing what new ways STEM Santa Fe finds to incorporate their Ideum display in current and future programs.

STEM Santa Fe advocates for, develops and provides STEM programming, mentoring and resources for all youth, especially under-represented groups in STEM, to realize their potential and expand their opportunities in a dynamic world. Learn more about STEM Santa Fe at www.stemsantafe.org
