Almost a year ago, we announced our collaboration with the USS Missouri Memorial Association on an immersive onboard exhibit. Currently, we are less than a month away from the exhibit opening, which coincides with the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II. We are looking forward to the opening of the exhibit and would like to share the events that the USS Missouri Memorial Association is hosting to commemorate this historic event.

The ceremony is free and open to the public. Cannot make it to Hawaii? The event will be live-streamed on Battleship Missouri Memorial’s YouTube and Facebook channels.
September 2 - Opening of the Pathway to Peace: USS Missouri’s World War II Experience Exhibit
September 2nd will also be the grand opening of Battleship Missouri Memorial’s new exhibit: Pathway to Peace: USS Missouri’s World War II Experience. The exhibit includes an immersive video with archival footage, personal artifacts of former crew members, and an interactive interview station, which will bring the story of USS Missouri and its sailors to life.
As part of the exhibit, the Ideum team interviewed World War II veterans who served aboard the USS Missouri and who witnessed the formal surrender ceremony in Tokyo Bay, 80 years ago. The interviews are part of the interactive interview station in the exhibit. These men will also be honored guests of the Commemoration Ceremony.
In the next couple of weeks, leading up to the opening of the exhibit, we will be sharing exclusive footage of the interviews on social media. Follow us on Instagram to stay up to date!
