Ideum is known predominantly for its line of ruggedized multi-touch interactive displays and our long history of pushing the boundaries of media-rich interactive exhibits. A vital part of our creative team is the AV systems engineering group, who have taken on a diverse range of projects over the years. From museum and science center exhibits, like the LED tile wall and projection mapping of Ebbets Field at the Jackie Robinson Museum and the four-story tall projection room for the Da Vinci Science Center, to work for our corporate clients such as the collaborative conference room for Amada, we are always excited to build new interactive and high-tech environments.

So when the opportunity to build a state-of-the-art simulation lab for the local Kirtland Air Force Research Lab was presented, we were excited to share our expertise. Ideum’s AV systems engineering team leveraged our experience in immersive media to deploy a 40-channel video wall. The wall has over fifty 4k video inputs, including 4 VR flight simulators where pilots can run drills supervised by support teams and command in real time.

While Ideum is not at liberty to discuss the details of this $7 million, 11,000 sq ft military facility, Crestron, whose DM NVX line was the heart of the AV-over-IP network infrastructure, felt compelled to honor Ideum with an Excellence Award in DM NVX. As a relatively small AV firm in New Mexico, it is an honor to be recognized by Crestron, one of the industry's biggest corporations with a $2 billion market cap and over 5,000 employees. The DM NVX line is what Ideum uses to send 4k video and USB-HID (touch) over a single network line to our displays in museums, science centers, and experience centers all over the world.

It is an honor for Ideum to have been chosen to support our troops and leading corporate researchers in the construction of this facility as well as to be given the award in DM NVX Excellence by Crestron for this work. Ideum found it fitting when the facility was described upon opening in the Albuquerque Journal as, “not all artificial intelligence and computers. Rather than being replaced by artificial computer systems, humans remain a critical part of such efforts.” A sentiment that Ideum wholly adopts. Even though we are a technology company, we do so at the service of human experience so our generation and the next can continue to learn new information and have shared experiences that bring us together.
