The Brain Odyssey is an interactive museum exhibit that is a “fantastic voyage”-like exploration of the human brain, the most complex structure known to science. In collaboration with Intervoke, we created an exhibit that is ready to use and well-suited for museums and science centers that focus on science, biology, and the human body.
Designed for a wide range of audiences, Brain Odyssey offers a self-guided, interactive experience that encourages exploration. Suitable for upper elementary visitors through adults, the exhibit adapts easily to different gallery sizes and layouts. Its flexible hardware configuration and durable, public-ready design make it suited for a wide range of spaces, and take ADA accessibility into account. The experience can be customized with support for additional languages.
The visual journey includes anatomically accurate 3D brain imagery, complete with animations at each level. The experience begins outside the brain with an overview of its lobes and fissures, then dives progressively deeper into its internal structures. At the final level, visitors explore the microscopic world of synapses and neurotransmitters, the chemical messengers that transmit signals between neurons.
The interactive exhibit is designed with multiple ways for visitors to interact, allowing customized hardware for each unique installation space. An Ideum Drafting II touch screen kiosk can be paired with a secondary display, such as a monitor, LED tile wall, video wall, or projector to create either a single-user interactive or a fully immersive experience.
The Brain Odyssey is designed for use with the Ideum Drafting II touch screen kiosk, or with a bespoke fabricated touch table integrating our frameless Inline touchscreen display. With 4K UHD multitouch screens and hardened enclosures, Ideum touch products are durable and designed for use in public spaces.
