Solar System Tour is a fully immersive exhibit that invites visitors to explore our solar system planet by planet. Created in collaboration with the Las Cruces Museum of Nature and Science, the exhibit is well-suited for museums, science centers, planetariums, and other educational institutions that focus on space and astronomy.
Designed for a broad audience, Solar System Tour offers a self-guided interactive experience featuring digitally-recreated narration from Clyde Tombaugh, the American astronomer who discovered Pluto. Flexible hardware options allow the exhibit to scale to a variety of gallery sizes and layouts, with options for single screen deployments or multi-screen curved video walls. The system is built for durability in public environments and is designed with ADA accessibility in mind.
The Solar System Tour puts visitors at the helm of a virtual spaceship where they can choose their cosmic destination from the major planets and dwarf planets that make up our solar system. Once a destination is selected, they are taken on an animated journey between planets, and upon arrival, are greeted with a brief history and characteristics of their chosen planet. The exhibit supports drop-in exploration, where visitors can join at any moment and immediately engage without instruction.
The interactive exhibit is designed with multiple configurations, allowing customized hardware for each unique installation space. An Ideum Reader Rail touch screen kiosk can be paired with a secondary display such as a monitor, LED tile wall, video wall, or projector to create a high-impact interactive experience for any size gallery or exhibit space.
Solar System Tour is designed for use with the Ideum Reader Rail touch screen kiosk, or with a bespoke touch table integrating our frameless Inline touchscreen display. The 34” 5K UHD multitouch display and hardened enclosure is durable and designed for prolonged use in public spaces.
