Digital Dinos is an immersive museum exhibit developed by Ideum in collaboration with the Las Vegas Natural History Museum (LVNHM). This completely touchless experience features playfully illustrated and animated dinosaurs reconstructed with scientific accuracy. Many of the featured species were discovered by LVNHM’s own paleontologist, grounding the exhibit in real research while delivering an engaging, family-friendly experience for museums and science centers.
The digital exhibit introduces visitors to dinosaur species that lived in what is now the American Southwest during the Late Cretaceous period, approximately 100 million years ago. Visitors encounter a cast of scientifically accurate dinosaurs, including Ankylosaurus, Titanosaurs, Deinonychus, Eolambia, and Eotyrannus, and learn about their behaviors, environments, and interactions. By combining accurate paleontology with approachable visuals, Digital Dinos makes complex scientific concepts accessible to a broad audience.
Designed as a touchless, motion-driven experience, Digital Dinos encourages visitors to engage naturally as dinosaurs respond to their presence and movement. Visitors can pet, feed, or startle different species, creating moments of surprise and delight while supporting intuitive, self-guided exploration. The exhibit supports multi-visitor interaction, works well for a wide range of ages, and is ideal for high-traffic public environments where durability and accessibility are key.
Digital Dinos is a projection-based exhibit installed and supported by Ideum’s Media Systems team. The system includes the necessary hardware to optimally power the exhibit based on the needs of each unique location. Exhibit requirements include a 16-foot flat wall finished with projection paint, a minimum ceiling height of 14 feet, and dedicated power and network connections. An internet connection is required to support remote access.
