Exhibit Tech

Summary

The Position

We seek a full-time Exhibit Technician who can help our group assemble and support multitouch tables and custom exhibit installations. We are looking for a detail-oriented, precision craftsman who can help us build the highest quality integrated computer systems, such as our multitouch tables. Candidates must have PC systems experience, experience working with basic tools, and excellent written and verbal communications skills. Experience with electronic systems is a strong plus.

 
Our Facilities
 

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who can help with all aspects of our table production from building to QA to support. Candidates may be also be asked to help with inventory, ordering, and logistics, so strong organizational skills are needed.

We also need help with technical documentation, email and phone support, so strong writing and communication skills are required. As a relatively small company (40+ people) that is growing fast and has a diverse set of products and projects, we need someone who is flexible and has a similarly diverse skill set.

Hardware Production Intern

Summary

Compensation: The intern position pays $15 / hour.
Position Type: This is a full-time, four-month (120 days) fixed term paid internship position (40 hours/week).
Location: On-site in Corrales, New Mexico.

The Position

We seek a full-time Intern to work with our hardware development group. Our production group designs and builds multitouch table and touch wall products and custom units. Our hardware ships worldwide (38 countries and counting).

The candidate needs to be passionate about new technology and about this position. We are looking for someone who is technologically proficient and understands PC systems.

The intern will learn how to build custom PC systems and assemble touch screens. Experience with shop tools, electrical systems, and electronics are major pluses. The candidate may be asked to contribute to technical documentation, client support, and social media, so strong written and verbal communication skills are required. In addition, the intern may learn about logistics, support and other systems.

We are currently hiring for one internship position for the months of May/June to Aug/Sept.

We seek a developer with demonstrated programming experience and other complimentary skills to join our development team. We are a team of programmers, UI /UX developers, designers, hardware engineers, who are looking for other creative developers to join in the fun. We work on research projects, custom museum projects, and development projects with some of the world’s biggest tech companies. Along with software, we develop integrated multitouch systems that include some of our hardware components.

For this position, we are looking for an intermediate to well-experienced programmer who is not afraid to learn new things. As our company continues to expand, we are looking for a self-starter who can contribute right away, but who is also willing to learn on the fly. We welcome applications with a range of experience levels, as we have a number of projects and initiatives underway.

General Qualifications

Beyond technical skills, we are looking for someone with strong conceptual and information design skills, and organizational ability. A college degree would be a plus, but is not a requirement. (see Qualifications and Extra Credit for more)

Creative Services Internship

The Position

We seek a full-time Intern to work with our Creative Services (CS) group. The CS group at Ideum develops interactive experiences for museums and other public spaces. The CS Intern will be a self-starter. Responsibilities may vary but testing applications in various phases of development is a core part of the job. Depending on the candidate, this will also include working with various teams within CS: graphic production, content development, social media, 3D printing, or programming, along with IOT electronics development.

The testing part of the job may involve multitouch screens, motion recognition, voice recognition, and other emerging technologies. We will work with the candidate to help learn (tune and if necessary devise) the proper testing systems.

The candidate needs to be passionate about new technology and about this position. We are looking for someone who is technologically proficient and has a deep knowledge of PC systems in particular. Visual design, writing, programming, and electronics experience are major pluses. The candidate will need to be able to contribute to technical documentation, client support, and social media, so strong written and verbal communication skills are required. In addition, the position does require some repetitive work; we need a candidate that is comfortable with repetition and is extremely thorough. The candidate must be extremely proactive in both noting and communicating any aspect of an application (or other work) that seems illogical, broken, unintuitive, or in any way not behaving as expected.

This position will spend 20 hours/wk performing the user interface and software testing as described above. Tasks for the remaining 20 hours/wk will be determined by the qualifications and interests of the internship candidate. Those 20 hours may be spent programming, working on electronics in the shop, designing applications or marketing materials, writing, 3D modeling and/or animating, shooting and/or editing video and audio, producing graphics, or working on other aspects of Ideum’s varied hardware and software production.
