AV Technician Intern

Summary

Compensation: $15 / hour.
Position Type: Full time (40 Hours).
Location: On-site in Corrales, New Mexico.

The Position

We seek a full-time AV Intern to support efforts involving creative problem solving, implementation and support of our professional AV installations and interactive technology experiences. This a paid, fixed term internship for 10-12 weeks (depending on the candidate’s availability and the timing of the hire). Responsibilities include a broad range of tasks including AV technical setup and configuration, physical labor, research, testing, troubleshooting, communications and documentation.

General Qualifications

We are searching for an AV Technician Intern to play a role in helping customize technical solutions, and in the hands-on implementation of our professional AV installations and other exhibits. You will be challenged with a variety of projects, a rapidly changing technical landscape, multi-tasking across projects and proposals, and partnering on integrations with internal teams including Design, Development, Production and Sales.

Candidates will ideally have some design, fabrication, construction or installation experience, and excellent written and verbal communications skills. Candidates must be available for frequent and extended travel.

As a relatively small company (45+ people) that is fast growing, we have a diverse set of products and projects, and are seeking an experienced technician and practical problem solver to join our team.

Creative Services Intern

Summary

Compensation: $15.00 /hour
Position Type: Internship.
Location: On-site in Corrales, New Mexico.

The Position

We seek a full-time Intern to work with our Creative Services (CS) group. This is a paid, fixed-term internship of 10-11 weeks (depending on the candidate’s availability and the timing of the hire). The CS group at Ideum develops interactive experiences for museums and other public spaces. Responsibilities may vary but include testing applications in various phases of development as a core part of the job. Depending on the candidate, they may also work with various teams within CS: graphic production, content development, social media, 3D printing, or programming, along with IOT electronics development.

The testing part of the job may involve multitouch screens, motion recognition, voice recognition, and other emerging technologies. We will work with the candidate to help them learn (tune, and if necessary, devise) the proper testing systems.

General Qualifications

The candidate needs to be passionate about new technology and about this position. We are looking for someone who is technologically proficient and has a deep knowledge of PC systems in particular. Visual design, writing, programming, and electronics experience are major pluses. The candidate will need to be able to contribute to technical documentation, client support, and social media, so strong written and verbal and communication skills are required. In addition, the position does require some repetitive work; we need a candidate that is comfortable with repetition and is extremely thorough. The candidate must be extremely proactive in both noting and communicating any aspect of an application (or other work) that seems illogical, broken, unintuitive, or in any way not behaving as expected.

This position will spend 20 hours/wk performing the user interface and software testing as described above. Tasks for the remaining 20 hours/wk will be determined by the qualifications and interests of the internship candidate. Those 20 hours may be spent programming, working on electronics in the shop, designing applications or marketing materials, writing, 3D modeling and/or animating, shooting and/or editing video and audio, producing graphics, or working on other aspects of Ideum’s varied hardware and software production. We are currently hiring for one internship position starting early January and ending late March. This is a fixed term, 10 or 11 week position.

We seek a full-time Intern to work with our hardware production group. This a paid, fixed term internship for 10-12 weeks (depending on the candidate’s availability and the timing of the hire). The hardware production group at Ideum designs and develops multitouch tables and touch screens for public spaces. Responsibilities will vary but learning how to assemble and test hardware will be key. Depending on the candidate they may also work with various teams within Ideum and be involved in 3D printing, or programming, along with electronics development.

General Qualifications

The candidate needs to be passionate about new technology and about this position. We are looking for someone who is technologically proficient and has a deep knowledge of PC systems in particular. Experience with audio visual equipment, shop skills, electrical system knowledge, and electronics experience is very helpful. The candidate will need to be able to contribute to technical documentation and possibly support documentation, so strong written and verbal and communication skills are required.

In addition, the candidate will learn about logistics, support, product design, and other aspects of hardware development. We design, assemble, test, ship, sell and market our unique hardware all out of the same facility. This is a fixed term, 10 to 11 week position.

Position Type: This is a full-time position (40 hours).
Location: On-site in Corrales, New Mexico.

The Position

We seek a developer with demonstrated programming experience and other complementary skills to join our team of programmers, designers, UI / UX developers, and producers. We work on custom installations for world renowned museums, Fortune 500 companies, and other interesting clients. As our company continues to expand, we are looking for a self-starter who can contribute right away, but who is also willing to learn new things.
