The attract mode was programmed to illuminate the large button, in sync with the animation on the screen. The button is programmed to glow at various times within the program to assist younger learners as they use the program.

As young visitors are prompted to hold up their work, a video camera captures a still image and displays it.

The program uses audio to prompt young visitors to talk about their work. The text is for adults and other older visitors who may be following along.

The program prints out a sticker while in the background an image and audio files are uploaded to a Web site so that parents can retrieve them after their visit.

Two major rounds of "user" testing were conducted. In total, over forty young learners ranging in age from two to six interacted with various versions of the application.
